This has slowly, over time, become my favorite face moisturizer, beating out Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, which I used for two years. My skin is dry but also acne-prone, and I’ve found myself craving an intensely light moisturizer that was still strong enough to make my skin feel protected and moisturized. I tried ten or so over time and fell in love with this one the instant I used it.
First things first: it smells divine. I don’t generally love the smell of roses necessarily, just their look, but this has a lovely, very very light rose smell that makes me just adore putting it on my skin because I get to carry around that scent with me. It’s also the perfect texture – creamy enough to not be watery at all, but light enough that my skin feels breathable after I apply it. A little goes a long way and it soaks into skin immediately, giving it an instant all-over natural-looking glow that I’ve rarely seen (if I wasn’t already completely satisfied with my Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, I would definitely use this as a final touch to my makeup to get that glow). I generally apply this at night after cleansing, and my skin always just feels refreshed the next morning. It’s also non-oily enough that I don’t feel like I have to wash my face in the morning to get it off before applying makeup – it’s already soaked in.
I love this and absolutely recommend it to anyone except those with intensely dry skin (Kiehl’s Ultra Facial is probably the way to go there). It’s light and hypoallergenic enough that it would probably work for those with oily skin as well.
One important note: I loved this enough that I bought some of the Wild Rose 24-hour Moisturizing and Brightening Cream soon after, with the idea of using it during the day, but it has a very different, thicker texture, and I didn’t end up sticking with it. It’s certainly not the same formula.
It’s $40 at Sephora, but I recommend buying a small sample on eBay to see if it works for you.
