Design Love: All of the Lights
I have an obsession with lights. The warm muted glow of a lamp, the bright definitive statement of a ceiling light, the throwback vintage of a wall sconce, the magic-carpet-ride of Christmas lights or string lights, the slight oriental touch of a globe lamp or paper lantern, the bold designer statement of hanging lights, the luxuriousness of a chandelier.
This industrial chandelier from Uncovet is one of the most gorgeous of its kind I’ve seen – and I already think that all industrial lighting is stunning. 18 lights, stained ebony wood, black wire, and hardware in antique silver and antique gold.
It’s really hard for me to handle the perfection of these minimalist wood hanging lights from Masahiro Minami design studio, appropriately titled ‘glory.’
Caffeinated Links: Wood Design, Breaking Bad, Mumford
The world’s lightest timber table (8 kilograms!) showed up at the London Design Festival this weekend RT
Grantland beautifully unpacks the latest, heartrending episode of Breaking Bad -“Certain things just aren’t supposed to happen. We’d never seen something so ordinary twisted into something so ugly. Certain people and institutions aren’t supposed to be punished for the sins of one individual. When and if they do come, the metaphorical chickens are meant to roost home-adjacent, not inside the walls of the baby’s nursery.” RT

Did You See? Is it She?
Beauty and the Beast references aside, have you read Est Magazine’s latest issue? I spotlighted Est here on the blog when they first debuted a few months back, and they still remain one of my favorite design publications.
Check out some photos from the Ferm Living Spring-Summer 2013 collection they featured recently.
And as a bonus, the Sarah Lavoine shoot is interesting but too austere for my tastes. I do love the unexpected pops of yellow, however.
Breathe..
Don’t forget to breathe today.
