Nothing sounds better than a pumpkin-based facial mask, right?
Er…perhaps.
Michael Todd’s Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask (find on the website here) has received tons of raves from beauty bloggers all over the web. Michael Todd is a well-respected, priceyyy, all-organic company that makes a wide range of skincare products. The 3.4 oz bottle (pictured) costs $34 and the product description says-
”That tingle is the pumpkin enzyme combining with glycolic acid to go to town on your skin’s flaws dissolving impurities like dead skin and clogged pores. Adds brightness and radiance to the skin and significantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles after a single use.”
Lately I’ve taken to ordering sample sizes of everything on Ebay before I commit to buying a full-size product, and thank the gods above I did for this. Because I had overlooked one tiny, tiny detail.
This isn’t a guide so much as a few quick tips to enjoying your first trip to NYC.
New York City is composed of five boroughs: Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. As a newbie traveler, I would have attempted to hit up at least three of them on my first trip to New York. As a more seasoned traveler, I recommend picking one, sticking with it, and really exploring – you’ll be less rushed, enjoy and experience more, and be able to really soak up the vibe of whichever one you choose. Another strong episode:) You know, Shining Inheritance had one of the slowest romantic build-ups I’ve ever seen in a drama, pulling us through with tiny, teasing, delightful tid-bits and really great characterizations, but now that the romance finally has hit its stride, it was well worth waiting for. After all that Eun-Seung and Hwan have been through, hurting each other, rejecting each other, tolerating each other, occasionally reaching out and showing the other that they’re a decent person, it’s so frelling satisfying to finally see them seeing each other with new eyes, making tiny, hesitant advances toward having a positive relationship instead of a negative, and the once-an-episode, amazing out-and-out romantic, chemistry-laden scenes that are dished out now and then(the bus scene from last weekend! mm!!). Shining Inheritance isn’t one of those dramas that you want necessarily to go shout from the rooftops and tell everyone to watch immediately(ie Coffee Prince). But it is one of the most thoroughly and consistently enjoyable dramas I’ve seen in a long time, and definitely one I’d recommend that everyone see at some point.

you be, my dearest? See you tonight then,
8 o’clock at our normal place, bye my love.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing on my
wife’s business answering machine. I came
home early from work to mow the grass. Who
was this man’s voice on my wife’s answering
machine? I played it again, “it’s me … see you
tonight … our normal place … bye my love.”
My heart, like a racing steam engine, truly
nearly pounded right out of my chest. Where
was she going tonight and to meet whom? How
could I find out? I couldn’t ask her, she’d have a
lie ready. Somehow I needed to follow her, but
then again maybe not. Do I really want to know
the details of the ruin of my life? I’ll kill this guy,
is all I can think, I will. I’ll have to kill this guy
for taking my wife from me. The courts will
understand. Adultery is truly a disgusting,
cowardly crime. I could never hurt her of
course, but him, well I’ll simply have to kill him,
soon as I find out who he is. Then I woke up
shaking and spent the whole day wondering if I
am a good husband, even bought her flowers on
my way home. (And checked her answering
machine when she wasn’t looking.)
This isn’t quite the usual job I post, but it is a very amazing one so here it is. One of my college friends works for The American Press Institute in Washington, and they are hiring!
The American Press Institute is looking for a senior research project manager to run an ambitious new program that will advance the cause of journalism that fact-checks campaign rhetoric and political discourse in general.
The manager and the program will involve and be aided by other API staff, but the manager should assume primary responsibility for coordinating and executing the fact-checking program.

“Capitalism is the closest thing we have to true democracy. We vote with our money. If a little video game or indie flick made by an innovative artist comes out and can’t get any financial traction, they go away, possibly never to resurface.
This is why I still buy DVD’s, video games, CD’s, and books. I think of it as donating to the cause. Whenever I can, I try to support the cause. But is particularly taxing for a comic book reader and anime fanatic like myself. Comics are a few bucks an issue and anime series are typically released in pricy box sets. And here I am turning my pockets inside out to find only lint.
Comics in particular have been an issue for me. There are a ton of them out there and it’s nigh impossible to keep up, much less acquaint oneself the classics without devoting yourself entirely to it. This is the medium where I lean on file sharing the most, and feel the worst for doing it. It’s an industry I support as much as I can, but to read an entire run of a comic series is a triple digit investment at least.” RT
Fascinating. An experiment with the human body’s natural sleep patterns. “In a hypothetical future world where Bad Kissingen succeeds in letting all of its citizens and visitors live out their chronotypes, the societal benefits would be huge. The town as a whole would be more creative, happier, and more alert. Social interaction would improve, as would the population’s ability to problem-solve. Chronically tired people often struggle with obesity, immune suppression, and mental illness, so the town’s overall health—both mental and physical—would improve.” RT
Most of you know I am passionate about Veronica Mars. So when a talented illustrator launched the Veronica Mars Project, illustrating a Veronica Mars character once a week leading up to the film release, I knew I had to do a Creativist Interview with her. Irena Freitas is an illustrator in Brazil.
Can you tell me a little bit about your background?
I’m from Brazil (to be more specific: Manaus, Amazonas) and double majored in Design and Journalism recently. At the moment I work as a concept artist at games studio called Petit Fabrik.
What is your favorite thing to draw and/or where do you get your inspiration from?
I love drawing characters! Originals or based on my favorites books/ tv shows. And I think it’s safe to say that pop culture is my main source of inspiration.
